About me

Becoming my own boss and running a creatively people centred business has been an interesting journey. Not so much a magical mystery tour but definitely a one with interesting stopovers.

An early artistic manoeuvre into writing and illustrating my own children’s book and then a top grade in A-level Art, was followed by a Joint Honours degree in Early Years Learning which in turn gave way to managing a pizzeria, becoming a wedding coordinator and sommelier for a country hotel and, also, to being a business conference manager.

It’s all been valuable but along the road, it seems that being with people, being creative and having an eye for critical detail, have all featured.

So here I am, now in Harrogate for the last five years, qualified in Beauty Therapy, additionally qualified in Micro-blading, fond of a chat, running a business of my own and with Pickle, my salon retriever, who is hoping to meet you.

Outside of Ayya’s, Pickle likes to walk me to the Nidd and help me explore the river. I like to ski, can ride a horse, recently learned to cast a fly rod, am pretty fair at tennis and love the chance to pick out a nice bottle of wine.
